Live Green Festival – May 21st, 2016 from 11am to 3pm

Join us for the second annual Harvey Park Live Green Festival to be hosted at Kunsmiller Creative Arts Academy on May 21st from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm.

The Harvey Park Live GreenFest will offer attendees opportunities to interact with neighbors, government officials, non-profit and for-profit sustainability businesses, and to learn how easy it is to make sustainable choices in daily life.

Participants will have opportunities to visit with experts and obtain free resources from groups such as the RTD, Denver Water, Denver Recycles, Colorado State Parks, Denver Energy Challenge, Denver Urban Gardens, Metro Denver Farmers’ Market, and more.

For example, many of last year’s participants were impressed by Denver Water’s ability to instantly compare their home’s water-use extent with that of neighboring homes.  Solar City and Sungevity will be available at the Harvey Park Live Greenfest to consult regarding home solar-energy options.

HPIA 60th Anniversary recognized by Councilman Kevin Flynn at Feb 1st City Council Meeting

Monday, February 1, will be a special day for Harvey Park at the Denver City Council. Councilman Kevin Flynn is sponsoring a proclamation recognizing the 60th anniversary of the Harvey Park Improvement Association, one of the oldest, largest and most active grassroots neighborhood organizations in the city.

Maintaining a volunteer group over six decades is no small feat, as it depends on having successive generations of residents willing to devote their time and energy, both of which can be in short supply. It is a credit to the vitality of the Harvey Park community that it has produced so many leaders to step up and continue to energize the organization.

Harvey Park has a fascinating history as part of Denver’s post-World War II growth, and we will be highlighting it. To hear the proclamation read, all Harvey Park residents are invited to attend the City Council meeting at the City and County Building, 1437 Bannock St., Room 451. Members of the board will be there to receive the proclamation on behalf of the association.

Harvey Park Community Organization Celebrates 60 Years!

Wednesday, February 3, 2016 at 7:00 p.m. We will commemorate the date, February 3, 1956, the founding of the Harvey Park Improvement Association. We’ll reminisce as we enjoy cake, refreshments and entertainment at the HPIA meeting at Kunsmiller Creative Arts Academy. We’ll cut the cake and celebrate the longevity and success of the HPIA. We’d love to see original owners and past HPIA board members there!
