All members of HPIA are invited to come to our Annual Meeting on May 20th to take part in the election of Board Members for 2009 vacancies.
(Following the voting for Board Members, the Board will then vote for new Officers as may be needed...members do not vote for Officers, only the Board members do per the By-Laws.)

Spotlight on Zoning Issues...

The Spotlight on Zoning Issues page features a variety of changing topics having to do with common zoning questions that may be of interest to residents of the Harvey Park community.  Neighborhood Inspection Services will be presenting the topics each month in layman's terms to help us all understand the otherwise complex ordinances that pertain to common zoning issues and questions.

Harvey Park Recreation Center

The swimming pool at Harvey Park is scheduled to open Monday June 1st for open swim. The first session for swimming lessons is scheduled to begin on Monday June 15th. Registration for this session will be held on Thursday June 11th at 6:00 PM. Swimming lessons will be held Monday through Thursday in two week sessions with the first session running from June 15th and ending on June 25th. The fee for swimming lessons is $24 for residents and $32 for non residents. Admission for open swim is $2 for youth 17 and under and $3 for adults 18-64. The fee is $2 for seniors 65 and over.

Youth sports also begin soon. Youth T-ball is offered for youth 5 an 6, coach pitch is offered for youth 7-8 and 9. T-ball practices are held at Harvey Park with games at College View. Coach Pitch practices are offered at Harvey Park with games played at Kunsmiller Middle School fields. Both of these programs are designed for less experienced players with practices beginning in early June. The fee for both of these programs is $45. Youth baseball and softball is offered for youth 9-10, 11-12 and 13-14. Practices are held at Harvey Park with games held at away sites. These programs have more advanced fundamentals and techniques taught as opposed to T-ball and coach pitch. The fee for these programs is also $45. Practices begin in early May. Karate has been changed to allow for parents and children to take a class together. Karate begins the first week in June with class on Tuesday and Thursday (1 hour each day) or Saturday (2 hours). The center offers a beginning and intermediate karate class. The fee for karate is $30 for a 10 week session.
